Grew up in Orlando, Florida, was always hot, very tropical. Dad put a window a/c in the living room about 1956. Bedrooms were still hot.

Moved out on my own 1965, kept a cold house from that day on.

Sorry you don’t have a/c, it pains me to think about that.
